  1. Use a community translation platform

    I would like to share with you one of my top feedback from my customers (99% are local, so they're French just like me).

    They find the overall ergonomy of the website, in particular the interface to place order, very confusing. Most of them have difficulties to easily understand english, so it doesn't help. This might be a generation gap thing, because most of them are 40+.

    It feels a bit like some people in need of 3D print, could be stuck and discouraged of oredering because of it.

    Why don't you use https://www.transifex.com/ for example ?

    • Allow buyers to pay extra for priority printing

      I would like to have a checkbox to see if any Hub is willing to offer a priority service.

      The Hub could for example not nest other parts in the building box. So the buyer compensates the lower efficiency of the printer with an extra fee.

      • Allow visitors to Browse 3D printing services without having to upload a file. (Suggested solution: Example parts files)

        This would probably help first-time visitors (such as myself) get a better idea of what the website is all about, as well as what prices to expect. I think this would increase the likelihood of newcomers sticking around. (I'm still not 100% sure I have the right idea of how this website works.)

        • 8 Days is too long time to wait for payment to clear.

          Hi,
          I got three orders in my pot pending customer to confirm they got the parts, after several times chasing them. The customer gets theirs parts printed and shipped in 48 hours. Why do I need to wait two weeks to get payment? Sometime it doesn't matter how many times we chase the customer some of them just don't confirm receipt. Can we reduce the wait time? I think it is not fair on us Hub owners. I offer signed for delivery so I can track the parts been delivered.

          • on order page, when I hoover a hub profile it pop up "Deleted user"

            It is all in the title... it might be a small mistake, but on my order page (as a customer) when I hoover a profile line it pop up "deleted user", might not be the right text...

            • Rejecting non-functional parts should not count against the hub.

              I've had a couple of customers that requested "functional" parts with features that would clearly not be functional. Extremely thin walls, clips, and threads for isntance.

              Rejecting these should not count against the hub because printing and shipping parts that we know will not work isn't a good business practice.

                Thanks for the feedback. we understand the issue.

                We’re working hard to increase our printability detection so it will be less of a problem. Furthermore we’re also working on making the hub score less sensitive for individual orders.

                However, we’re not planning to remove unprintable orders from the hub score as we can’t automatically identify them with full certainty. Doing so would open up the platform to be gamed by dishonest services, which is something we all don’t want.

                Hello 3DHubs!

                I've had a couple of occasions in which print requests when packaged has come out over the USPS FC limitation of 13oz or 368 grams. My current process is to check if any amount over 300 grams is used before changing the shipping option on the order before payment.

                It would be a nicer customer experience (and easier on the Hubs) if shipping options that have weight limits not be available to the customer if the projected printed volume would exceed an estimated weight in the material being chosen.                 • Allow customers to find a Hub for design and scanning work

                  At the moment, many Hubs also offer the possibility to do design or scanning work.
                  As far as I can tell however, this ability is completely wasted.
                  Customers are required to upload a STL-file FIRST, before they can find a Hub that suits them.
                  But what if a customer simply DOES NOT HAVE a STL-file yet, simply because they don't have one. Instead, they are looking for someone who can design a product of scan a product for them that they can then have printed.
                  There are a lot of Hubs which would be able to do this, yet, now…

                    • wall thickness vs strength of part

                      After sing a document like this http://my3dmatter.com/influence-infill-layer-height-pattern/ it would be very nice for 3D hubs to maybe duplicate results and/or also have the comparison of infill vs wall thickness. This would allow for customers to make the most informed decisions and would also be nice for the hub owners to recommend different configurations.

                          Hi guys, I am operating my custom aluminum Ultimaker-like printer. I don't know how it is with other listed printers, but I miss the settings of available print volume for my printer.

                          Like you know from the list that I have custom Ultimaker, but that's it.

                          And how about customized printer icon/photo?
                          There is only "questionmark icon" which says nothing.

                          • plastic or foam of an artifact which is a rock that has different contours and multicolors(materials)

                            Please assist whereas the stone artifact that I have can be scanned or another way which may create out of rubber, foam, and or plastic

                            • Make it easier for new customers to close out their orders and leave hub review

                              Our Hub gets a lot of new customers, and it seems like it is not intuitive for them to confirm receipt of parts (most never even confirm). After they confirm they should be directed to review the hub (which they can decline of course).

                              We have had customers very excited about their parts and who want to give reviews, but they only comment on the order page and never confirm or leave a review unless they are walked through the process which makes it feel like we are nagging for a review.

                              • Urgent orders

                                Some costumers have very short deadlines and need their prints urgently. This happens especially with students. You should add an option for urgent order and give the possibility of charging an extra for orders delivered in a day or two.

                                  Add an option for when hub is not available for a period of time to specify time of unavailability instead of taking offline the printer so orders can still come in. Example:
                                  "I am away for (number of) Days and your order will be printed and shipped on (Date)"
                                  Something like out of office option in emails inboxes. This message should be showing at the time customer is placing the orders so he/she is aware of the delay and make order request based on this. Hence Hub can still receive orders and accept them.

                                    I had a customer who submitted an order that I quickly accepted after checking the model and slicing it to check for printability issues, the customer didn't pay immedialety. I ended up asking him to pay a few days layer.

                                    The customer told me that he's waiting for a "quote" from another hub. Maybe he's too dumb to see the prices and delivery costs at the first plate when he submitted the order.

                                    This time consuming for everybody trying to check the order and spending time contacting the customer.

                                    I suggest 3D Hubs to detect…

                                      I use trello to organize all my orders and each specific part in each order. But I have to go in and manually enter all the information each time. It would be a big help for hub owners to have trello (or a similar service) to organize orders, parts, shipments etc. the existing system is okay but doesn’t break it down by parts and if you’re running several orders with several parts each Trello is a big help to make sure everything is running on time.

                                          Can we please adjust response time. Submissions at 2am negatively affects your response time. As do week end submissions. Either adjust the calculation to take into to account reasonable business hours, or better still add a feature so Hubs can set their business hours, which will indicate when people can expect a response. I'd go with the former, it's cleaner, and less prone to creating pressure on competing hubs to operate at stupid oclock.
