    • Make the user more aware that higher microns does not mean higher quality.

All too often I have customers order at 200 or 300 microns only to leave me a poor review after they thought that the higher the micron the number the higher quality resolution. I have to check with anyone that orders at 300 or 200 now whether they understand that they're ordering a medium to low quality print. But it would be much easier of 3D Hubs made the customers (which most are new to 3D Printing) aware that the higher the micron number does not mean higher quality, this could be rectified by a confirmation by the customer before…

      • Order using multiple materials

I have a project that needs (2) components and I wish to have them printed using different materials. Please consider supporting that scenario. Thanks

        • Allow hubs to be ranked by default cost

Pretty simple really, distance isn't that useful given that postage doesn't vary that much. But usually i have to scroll through 5 pages to find those hub offering the most competive prices.

          • The Auto-Rotate module for FDM 3D Printing "Tweaker"

The efficiency of FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D printing is influenced by the orientation in which the printed object is positioned on the printing platform. The Tweaker is an open source python module which finds an optimal orientation for an object on a 3D printer's printing platform. The Tweaker can be regarded as an auto-rotate function, invocable from software as well as from a web-service to facilitate the workflow in a cloud-based manufacturing scenario as 3D Hubs is.

            Test it here: https://github.com/ChristophSchranz/Tweaker-3

            • display price/time (or other) options in a grid

Looking through the offerings is time-consuming, and doesn't give you a good idea of when you'll get your order and for how much, since shipping isn't included. Instead, calculate full time and cost for each delivery option for each offering, and show them all in a grid with time on one axis and cost on the other. Then I can easily see my sweet spot. Color could be used to indicate ratings.

We’re always looking to making it easier for a customer to select the right service provider. We’ll take this feedback into account when we’re redesigning that part.

              • simplify material selection

The filtering by material is good, but there are too many variations on the base materials to be practical. If I know I want ABS, I can enter that in the filter field, but get 12 variations on ABS plus some other matches. This makes it nigh impossible to compare the options, as they are spread over many lists.

                • Add a "Vacation" setting or "Temporarily offline"

If a hub owner is going on vacation or to a conference for a week or two it would be nice to have a vacation mode or a temporarily offline mode. There could be one toggle switch with a corresponding date field that takes the hub printers offline but still allows the hub to show in search results. The difference being that it has a message stating something to the effect of "This hub is temporarily offline and will resume accepting orders on (date)". This way existing customers know you're still around, and, potential new customers may see still view…

                  • show uploads in the order uploaded, not sorted.

Apparently you sort the names of the uploads in the Order Details. It would be more convenient if you would leave them in the order they were uploaded, oldest at the top. There is no reason to sort, and leaving them in upload order is easier for us to map to our recollection of doing the uploads.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that this can be cumbersome. We’re reviewing to rebuild this part of the system , which should also solve this issue

                    • price based on weight

There should be a way to have your prices be based on weight as we buy filament base on weight and not volume size.

Once we’ve reworked our material database this should become available. However, it’s relatively easy to workaround this as your filament brand should be able provide the density its material.

                      • Extend the possibility to add .GCODE and .FACTORY (Simplify 3D) files in the order page

It should be great to have, the possibility to attach in the order page, also gcode already printed and setting (for example in Simplify3D format). This may help the archiving and sharing settings

                        • Improved 3D printing trends

I was very disapointed that the part about the color distribution is no longer a part of the quarterly trending report. It was the only information that I could use for planning how to stock my hub to meet customer demand. What I would like is for that part to come back and also getting information about distribution of material, layer height, printing technique and build volume. If it would be possible to make the information available on a local level (per country/region) it would be extremly helpful and allow for the hubs to understand the customer demand.

                          • Re-newing "2. Choose a material to print in" section

Hello 3D-Hub´s team, first of all thanks to your work - i enjoy it beeing here. Here is my approach:

There are 12 different material options + 1 search option so far:

                            1. general purpose plastics
                            2. resin
                            3. etc.

I´am wondering about this: 6 out of 12 material domains are dedicated to Stratasys products only.

The domains i have in mind are:

                            rigid opaque plastics
                            rubber like plastics
                            transparent plastics
                            simulated poly
                            simulated ABS

                            Of course, all in HD!

Ive made testprints with different materials and systems.
In fact, a desktop system can beat out stratasys tango, vero white…

My URL, imagine3dps.com forwards directly to my hub. But traffic I generate through my efforts still costs me the 12.5% service charge. Is there a way you can treat my URL forwarded traffic the same as from a button on a website? Not that I begrudge you your profits, but traffic that I generate should get the lower charge, no?

                                • Option for different pricing for printing with PVA supports on UM3

The UM3 has the option to print supports in PVA which desolves in water. This makes complex prints possible of course, but this material is very expensive, so I would like to create seperate pricing for PLA with PLA supports and PLA with PVA supports. Currently that is not possible. I can't even 'work around' by adding PLA with PVA supports as a material.
It would be great also, if a small explanation could be given per material to let people know the difference.
For the future it would obviously be great if supports could be calculated by 3DHubs.

The dashboard is great for the general statistics and it's good to keep an eye on where I am with 3D hubs - but in order to keep track of orders I have to keep flicking back to the 'orders' page. On top of that in order to keep an eye on those shipping, printing and completed I have to flick between screens... painful.

I think the dashbaord should be used a bit more to slove this...

                                    - Have the basic 'Current Order Stats' shown on the dashboard.
                                    - Show Current Orders as a small table with links to the…

Thanks for the great suggestions. We are close to releasing a better Hub Insights dashboard with some of the mentioned features. I will update you when it goes live.

                                    • Allow user to filter based on completion time of print (e.g. Fastest > Slowest) and Price.

On the '3D Print' screen filters, allow the user to filter/order the hubs by completion time of the print (fastest > slowest or slowest > fastest), Price (Lowest > highest or highest > lowest) and Response time (fastest response > slowest response and vice-a-versa).

                                        • Associate filament princing to multiple printers, and multiple brands

I have 4 printers. Lets say I print both ABS and PLA in red, black and white, at the same price for the same resolution. I also print Nylon, but only on two of them. I also offer two resolutions: 100 and 200 microns.

If I would create my 4 printers today, I would need to:
                                          0. Create my first printer;
                                          1. Create pricing for PLA, 3 colors, 100 microns
                                          2. Add pricing for 200 microns
                                          3. Copy this princing and rename it to ABS;
                                          4. Create my next printer;
                                          5. Redo steps 1 to 3 for that second printer; …

The flow of adding materials and pricing to your hub is indeed quite complicated. We’re looking at ways to simplify this proces, but is not on top of the list to implement at this point in time.
