If a hub owner is going on vacation or to a conference for a week or two it would be nice to have a vacation mode or a temporarily offline mode. There could be one toggle switch with a corresponding date field that takes the hub printers offline but still allows the hub to show in search results. The difference being that it has a message stating something to the effect of "This hub is temporarily offline and will resume accepting orders on (date)". This way existing customers know you're still around, and, potential new customers may see still view your hub and even be willing to wait the x days until you're available again if they like what they see over the other hubs available.
Taking printers offline and disappearing from search results is a bit of a penalty IMHO and I don't think a hub should be penalized for taking vacation or going out of town on a business trip.

Thanks for the feedback. Having support for “opening hours” and “temporarily closed” are high on our backlog.
auto calculate order completition date based on printing volume (or other conditions), Sample scenario: i set that can i print for a single customer approx 5cm3 for day, customer upload models for a total of 15cm3, 3dhubs auto calculating order completition time on 3 business day ...4 votes
We’re looking at way to see how we can make the estimated order delivery time more accurate.
It would be great if I could take a material offline like we can for printers.
For example, I have some exotic filament for sale on my page and sometimes it is backlogged for reorder. It would be great if I could just suspend one filament from being an option while ordering without deleting the whole entry/pricing model.
Otherwise I have to delete and the recreate all the settings for the material when I get it back in stock.
Just a thought. Would be useful3 votes
Thanks for the feedback. We’re considering ways how we can make the material management easier
Allow copying existing order to a new one - taking the same data/material/HUB.1 vote
We’re looking at way how we can make re-submitting an order easier
provide legal confidentiality disclosure and NDA. I cant get money to patent without prints to show investors, cant print without a NDA1 vote
Thanks for the feedback. This is something relatively high on our wish list as well.
Order welcome message shall be written in hub's local language, or at least it should be possible to customize it.1 vote
Thanks for the feedback. We’re considering this feature.
When a hub is online, current you see a green glowing light next to their hub, i feel the customer should be able to then communicate directly with the hub if they have any questions, this will help the hub get business from the customer while also improve customer satisfaction, as more often than not a customer doesn't fully understand materials and settings such as layer heights.1 vote
Thanks for the good feedback. Introducing live chat is something we’re contemplating internally as well. We’ll keep you posted.
I have been receiving a lot of orders for large parts that are too big to be made by any of my printers. I suggest adding a feature to limit part size based on the type of printer or at least provide an alert to the customer and the hub that the part may be too big. Another approach would be to identify hubs that could print "XL" parts prior to ordering, which is similar to what is currently done for hubs that can print "HD" parts. That way customers would only be seeing hubs that can print large parts.4 votes
Hi MakerStrong, we do filter printers based on the size of the object, however we don’t do so on the order widget which is used on the profile pages and external websites. This is something we’ll address soon. Thanks for flagging!
This is a crutial parameter, much more than the Z resolution, which is usually not the issue...1 vote
I realize you guys are pushing the "mobile site" as a be-all-end-all but an app would allow Push notifications, full use of the iOS/Android notification APIs and in general I'd way rather hit a single button on my phone than have to navigate through Safari, go to my bookmarks, pull up the site, then wonder if cookies will work right.
Additionally, iOS users could then apply a touch ID to login. Boom. Expert-level UI/UX for the win. You'd be silly to not be going this direction, honestly.21 votes
Thanks for the feedback – good stuff! We’re currently reviewing our options for native app support or notification of push messages.
The touch ID idea is pretty rad!
I was very disapointed that the part about the color distribution is no longer a part of the quarterly trending report. It was the only information that I could use for planning how to stock my hub to meet customer demand. What I would like is for that part to come back and also getting information about distribution of material, layer height, printing technique and build volume. If it would be possible to make the information available on a local level (per country/region) it would be extremly helpful and allow for the hubs to understand the customer demand.15 votes
we have now the 'Response time' indicator....how wold be if there were also an 'Averange completion time for orders' indicator. So can the Clients see how fast does the Hub complete the orders. I have set the completion time 7Days to have safety margins (defects of the printer or no material or lack of time etc) but normally I ship the parts in 2-3 days.... I'm sure that lot of hubs are doing the same way1 vote
Good suggestion. We’re looking to add indicators on the order throughput time and on-time rate relatively soon.
Adding the ability to configure the look of a receipt would be appreciated. At least make them look similar to the Invoice layout.1 vote
This is quite high on our priority list. I’ll let you know once we’ve updated it.
Apparently you sort the names of the uploads in the Order Details. It would be more convenient if you would leave them in the order they were uploaded, oldest at the top. There is no reason to sort, and leaving them in upload order is easier for us to map to our recollection of doing the uploads.1 vote
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that this can be cumbersome. We’re reviewing to rebuild this part of the system , which should also solve this issue
I visited your site on recommendation of a colleague on a course I am taking. I just wanted to know where the 3d printers are near to where I live and accessible by public transport. Could not find that information without joining up and even then it is just maps in a general area. needed more precise information. Even though I am in Dublin ROI on my profile my phone number option was suggesting +44 which is the UK. Please improve your location information. I don't want to browse loads of stuff and scoll down. I just want a quick list by post code and if possible road or street without even joining up. No matter how good the 3d printers are, if I cannot get to them I won't be using them.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you know you can enter your location and then sort on distance? that should give you a all hubs nearby nicely listed.
Ability to enter/log your invoice number & date against a completed order and have that in the order list as filter item
Add an 'invoice nr' and 'invoice date' field to the complete order context. So as a hub it makes live easier to administer your orders. Then also have those two properties available in the orders list and export feature.1 vote
Thanks for your feedback. We’re looking at how we can make the invoicing process easier. I’ll reach out to you once we’ll get to it.
The efficiency of FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D printing is influenced by the orientation in which the printed object is positioned on the printing platform. The Tweaker is an open source python module which finds an optimal orientation for an object on a 3D printer's printing platform. The Tweaker can be regarded as an auto-rotate function, invocable from software as well as from a web-service to facilitate the workflow in a cloud-based manufacturing scenario as 3D Hubs is.
Test it here: https://github.com/ChristophSchranz/Tweaker-31 vote
Thanks for the tip. I’ve forwarded it to the development team working on this part as part orientation is definitely important to us.
1) hide 3d printer model to customer
2) unbranded Embeddable Order Widget without any reference to 3dhubs to use in external website0 votes
Thanks for the feedback. Wer’e looking making the order process easier for customers which might involve hiding the printers.
If any attachment errors, show the errors in the Add attachments area (not the top of page). It's hard to see there are errors.1 vote
Pretty simple really, distance isn't that useful given that postage doesn't vary that much. But usually i have to scroll through 5 pages to find those hub offering the most competive prices.1 vote
We’re reviewing different solutions that would solve the problem of having to scroll through 5 pages.
