    • Add a 'Live Chat' option for hubs

When a hub is online, current you see a green glowing light next to their hub, i feel the customer should be able to then communicate directly with the hub if they have any questions, this will help the hub get business from the customer while also improve customer satisfaction, as more often than not a customer doesn't fully understand materials and settings such as layer heights.

      • Allow hub to split up orders

If customer add a lot of parts and then ask for colors it could be nice to be able to split up the order and set color and infill

infill is always 20% and in some cases the customer wants less or more

this creates the need to calculate stuff instead of just changing the infill %

Since we acquired Printivate last year we’re starting to work on more advanced pricing features. Custom infill is pretty high on the list for improving FDM quoting flexibility.

        • Copy existing order

Allow copying existing order to a new one - taking the same data/material/HUB.

            • On DLP+SLA comparison table - add the pixel size parameter (x-y) ,or DPI

This is a crutial parameter, much more than the Z resolution, which is usually not the issue...

Hard to find it so I can add to the details with the print pix.

                • Pricing option to print large orders of identical part by batch

I recently received a huge order, about 200 tiny pieces for a board game and that took me a lot of time to organise the batches, monitor and stuff.

I know there's an option for "subsequent prints" on the pricing page, but that applies to each individual other object in the order.

It would make sense to add a princing option by batch, the batch can be automatically determined by 3D Hubs based on build plate, and object volume.

For example if I want 3 euros for each subsequent print which applies to a large object, it wont apply to…

                  • Allow Mass-Editing of Printer Settings

We run a few FDM printers of varying dimensions and all, but all of our materials and colors work on all of them. It is a little tedious to have to go in and edit each printer when we run out of a material or add new ones.

It'd be nice if you could do it one of the two following ways:

                    1. Assign groups of printers that all use the same material settings, and then update a single material list for that group of printers.

                    2. Assign material settings to groups (i.e. one group for 1.75mm PLA options, one…

                    • Re-newing "2. Choose a material to print in" section

Hello 3D-Hub´s team, first of all thanks to your work - i enjoy it beeing here. Here is my approach:

There are 12 different material options + 1 search option so far:

                      1. general purpose plastics
                      2. resin
                      3. etc.

I´am wondering about this: 6 out of 12 material domains are dedicated to Stratasys products only.

The domains i have in mind are:

                      rigid opaque plastics
                      rubber like plastics
                      transparent plastics
                      simulated poly
                      simulated ABS

                      Of course, all in HD!

Ive made testprints with different materials and systems.
In fact, a desktop system can beat out stratasys tango, vero white…

                      • Print time in days after payment

To avoid confusion and unmanageable expectations it needs to be made clear to clients that the lead time starts AFTER payment is made and that if it is 24 hours or more since the item was submitted that it needs to be reapproved or the date changed.

At present a client can request a print, we give a date and approve it then the client waits 2 days while other orders come in and the print queue gets bigger. Then its not always possible to make deadlines. Here I am at 2 am waiting on a print to finish so…

Pretty simple really, distance isn't that useful given that postage doesn't vary that much. But usually i have to scroll through 5 pages to find those hub offering the most competive prices.

                              • Associate filament princing to multiple printers, and multiple brands

I have 4 printers. Lets say I print both ABS and PLA in red, black and white, at the same price for the same resolution. I also print Nylon, but only on two of them. I also offer two resolutions: 100 and 200 microns.

If I would create my 4 printers today, I would need to:
                                0. Create my first printer;
                                1. Create pricing for PLA, 3 colors, 100 microns
                                2. Add pricing for 200 microns
                                3. Copy this princing and rename it to ABS;
                                4. Create my next printer;
                                5. Redo steps 1 to 3 for that second printer; …

The flow of adding materials and pricing to your hub is indeed quite complicated. We’re looking at ways to simplify this proces, but is not on top of the list to implement at this point in time.

                                • Optional Payment for the hub after a month

It would be better for hubs to have the option to select whether they want to get paid for each order or have a montly payment (up to the orders they had each month). That's because every time 3dhubs make the payment there is a fee from the hub's bank for the transaction. For example in Greece this is 3€ and it is not up to the amount, it is a fixed fee...so it is better to make one transaction each month rather than 4-5 whatever is the number of orders each month.

                                  • The Auto-Rotate module for FDM 3D Printing "Tweaker"

The efficiency of FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D printing is influenced by the orientation in which the printed object is positioned on the printing platform. The Tweaker is an open source python module which finds an optimal orientation for an object on a 3D printer's printing platform. The Tweaker can be regarded as an auto-rotate function, invocable from software as well as from a web-service to facilitate the workflow in a cloud-based manufacturing scenario as 3D Hubs is.

                                    • simplify material selection

The filtering by material is good, but there are too many variations on the base materials to be practical. If I know I want ABS, I can enter that in the filter field, but get 12 variations on ABS plus some other matches. This makes it nigh impossible to compare the options, as they are spread over many lists.

                                      • display price/time (or other) options in a grid

Looking through the offerings is time-consuming, and doesn't give you a good idea of when you'll get your order and for how much, since shipping isn't included. Instead, calculate full time and cost for each delivery option for each offering, and show them all in a grid with time on one axis and cost on the other. Then I can easily see my sweet spot. Color could be used to indicate ratings.

We’re always looking to making it easier for a customer to select the right service provider. We’ll take this feedback into account when we’re redesigning that part.

                                        • Add a shrinkage disclaimer when customer uploads a model

I've recently had this issue come up where a customer has a hard time fitting screws or other parts into a printed part. As far as I know virtually every material will have a certain degree of shrinkage. Most customers tend to model to spec, so for insance if they need to fit a 5mm hex nut into their part, they model a space that will fit a 5mm hex nut exactly. When printed, the nut won't fit due to the material shrinking slightly as it cools. It would be nice if there was a disclaimer warning the customer when…
